About Design X Marketing

Design X Marketing was launched live on Jan 1, 2012 and what a website it was! We had around 100 pages to design and we managed to muscle through all of them in a short amount of time. That time included all the coding, graphic design, SEO, marketing, inbound linking, videos, blog, written content and social media sites. We completed it before our launch date in about 3 months. We worked day and night trying to get it all done. There was no other income, we had to, the pressure was on. And we succeeded! 

We started partnering with local businesses, investing time into meetings, cross marketing strategies, talking face to face with our local community businesses and even hiring a part time graphic designer. It was a one man show for the most part. From the beginning Phil Benson did everything from web design, coding websites, video editing, video design, online marketing, SEO, social media marketing, graphic design, decal design, inbound marketing, writing content, book keeping, contract writing, legal documents, sales, meeting with clients, training and the list goes on. So with that kind of work load you could only imagine that we needed some help! Inbound marketing was the talk of the online marketing community back then. It was new, fresh and exciting and the more research that was done, the more we were interested. We were on the phone with people that wanted to work for us, people who wanted to work with us, college students looking to apprentice with us and people that wanted us to invest in their big dreams! We had toll free numbers, we had the skills, we had the ambition, we had the goals and we had the dreams… 

We operated for a couple years under that name and wow did we ever work hard at it! We built our client base to about 50 clients with a number of retainer clients and it looked like we were on the verge of making it. Our dreams were to have a down town office location in Lethbridge. But unfortunately the economy wouldn’t have it and we had to close our virtual doors and take on new, exciting but different endeavors. Inches away from making a local name for ourselves, inches. A very tough welcome to the recession especially with a brand new truck advertising our business. 

After a couple years off we decided to try again under the name Siteson Marketing & Design Shop.
